#3: Half Pops-- Try a DIY!
#3: Half Pops-- Try a DIY!
Half Pops are a brand of "half-popped" popcorn that are crunchy, flavorful, and don't have any added sugar. If you are looking for a healthy, quick, and crunchy snack, Half Pops are worth a try!

I recently found that you can make half pops yourself! It sounded too good to be true! Here's my recipe:
DIY Half Pops:
I tried this recipe and tested the results for 3 different boiling times: 20, 25, and 30 minutes. The 25 minute half pops were crunchier, but I recommend trying both 25 and 30 minute boiling. As for the 30 minute half pops, they didn't pop enough or, in some cases, at all.
You will need:
- Popcorn kernels
- Pan
- Water
- Strainer
- Stovetop (for popping)
Steps:
Boil water (enough to go at least 3 inches up the side of your pan).
Put in popcorn kernels and set a timer for 20 or 25 minutes.
After being boiled for 20 or 25 minutes, strain the kernels and dry thoroughly, preferably for a few hours.

Cook kernels on the stovetop. I haven't tried using an air popper yet, but I love the oily flavor of the stovetop ones!
Beware: these kernels will pop VERY loudly. As always, look out for oil splatters.
Season with salt, vanilla, or your other preferred popcorn toppings.
